Creator Accounts and Self Assessment

Written and reviewed by the Influencer Accountants editorial team. Last reviewed 28 July 2026.

This is the engagement itself: your accounts kept and your Self Assessment return prepared and filed. Where the guides explain the rules, this is us doing the work and owning the deadline.

It runs on a fixed fee agreed before we start, whether you want the annual return alone or the bookkeeping through the year as well.

What We Handle

Registering you for Self Assessment if you are not already, keeping your income and expenses in order, and preparing and filing the return itself. We reconcile platform payouts, apply the trading allowance or your real expenses whichever is better, and tell you the bill and the payment dates in good time.

When Making Tax Digital reaches you, we set up compatible software and run the quarterly updates, so the change is ours to manage rather than yours.

Where Creator Returns Go Wrong

The common failures are late registration, income missed because it never hit the main bank account, and expenses under-claimed because nobody knew they were allowable. Each one either costs a penalty or costs you money you did not need to pay.

Because we do this only for creators, the checklist is built around creator income: multiple platforms, gifted products, US-withheld earnings and small-amount subs and tips. Nothing quietly falls off the return.

How It Runs

You send the records we ask for in a single list. We prepare the figures, show them to you with the tax due and the deadlines, and file once you approve. Identity checks come first. For the year-round option we keep the books current each month so January is not a scramble.

You approve everything before it is submitted. Nothing is filed on your behalf without you seeing the numbers first.

What It Costs

A fixed fee agreed before work starts. A single annual return is at the lower end; adding year-round bookkeeping and quarterly MTD updates costs more and is priced clearly, so you choose the level you want.

To get a price, tell us what you earn from and whether you want just the return or the books kept too, and we will come back with a fixed quote and a deadline.

Common questions

Can you register me for Self Assessment?

Yes. If you are not registered we handle that as part of the engagement, then prepare and file the return. Registration is due by 5 October after the tax year your income passed £1,000.

Do you just file, or keep the books too?

Either. You can hand us the annual return alone, or add year-round bookkeeping so the numbers stay current and Making Tax Digital is handled. We price both so you can choose.

Will I see the return before it is filed?

Always. We show you the figures, the tax due and the payment dates, and only submit once you have approved them. Nothing goes to HMRC without your say-so.

What does it cost?

A fixed fee agreed before any work starts, scaled to whether you want just the return or the full bookkeeping. Tell us what you need and we will quote it with a deadline.
